Alternative to logica SMPP API?

Hi all,

I'm making a VAS server which will be using SMPP to server logos and ringtones. I've been looking at the logica API for this, but I'd like to see more options.

Does anyone know of any source code, APIs or libraries, preferably in Java or dotNet (but other languages may also be considered).

If available, implementations of the logica API would also be very intersting.

Any other links you can give me to information that may be of interest are also appreciated.

I've looked at kannel as well, but I reckon the logo and ringtone support is rather limited.

If your requirement is more to do with SMS rather than the mechanism used for sending/receiving, it might be worth while considering some other options.  Have a look at this site: http://www.developershome.com/

That site mostly refers to GSM modems and such, and with the volume of messages in question the only real option for me is a SMPP connection.

You may have overlooked the section on bulk SMS gateways from the link I posted.  I have just started using Clickatell's service and although I'm not using the bulk SMS methods yet, they are available and can be managed quite easily by methods other than SMPP (eg. HTTP).  Have a look at the docs on the site: http://www.clickatell.com

We're dealing with a direct connection to the mobile operators SMSC, so a SMPP solution is the only really viable one.

What about dotnet components? Is there anything out there that may suit this purpose?

Hi

If you want to Implement the SMPP protocols completely then Pls refer the Document SMPP V3.4 and make changes according to your requirement.
You need to combine all the parameters of the SMPP PDU and supply the proper values to the parameters.

I didn't really find a solution based on all this, but it's helped me along the way and given me more insight on what I"m trying to accomplish.

So even though I didn't get a direct solution, your effort is certainly worth some points!
