Can't ping printer from one laptop

I can't see my network printer from one laptop. The other sees it no problem. I can ping it from one but not the other.
Both laptops are XPPro wireless and the printer is connected via a wireless network port. The printer was originally set up sucessfully on the problem laptop - I've no idea what the problem is.
Cheers,

Does the laptop have a valid IP address in the same subnet as the working pc?
Start > Run (type in cmd)
Type ipconfig /all  > should show the IP, gateway etc
Can you ping the good laptop, or can the good laptop ping the bad laptop

I can ping the router (dhcp server to both laptops) from both, I can ping either laptop from the other, but I can only ping the printer from one laptop. The ipconfigs are identical except the ip addresses of course.
Laptop 1: 192.168.1.101 (good)
Laptop 2: 192.168.1.102 (bad)
Router: 192.168.1.100
Printer: 192.168.1.50
all with subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Run a tracert like this tracert 192.168.1.50 from the dos command prompt....does it end at the router?
I ran tracert to the printer on both laptops the results:

Good: got to the printer on the 10th hop - no responses on the 1st 9.

Bad: 30x no responses
Correction and more info:

Correction: The ip address of the router is 192.168.1.1
The wireless network port for the printer is a Belkin unit with ip of 192.168.1.249. I can ping this from both laptops.
The belkin unit has the printer and a PC wired to it. I can ping the PC (192.168.1.100) from both laptops, in fact I can ping everything from everything except the printer from the bad laptop.

BUT when I ping the bad laptop from the PC (which is on the wired section with the printer) I get a significantly slower response (averaging 40ms but ranging from under 5 to over 100ms) compared to pinging the good laptop from the same PC where I get 1ms or less.
Aaaaah... I am beginning to see the light.

The "bad" laptop was connected to the Linksys router and the "good" laptop to the Belkin repeater. The reason both could ping the PC but not the printer was that the printer is on a static ip and the PC is on an ip provided by the Linsys dhcp.

So.... now the main question is how do I get the Linksys router to pass traffic destined for the printer out on the wireless to the Belkin. Maybe Linksys tech support is the only answer - I do hope not as they are RUBBISH!!!

I've given up trying to work this one out and made the assumption its something to do with the wat the linksys works when it passes data between its wired and wireless interfaces. I've got around it by installing the printer on a ws2003 and sharing it from there so mall printing is now effectively from a server that is connected to the linksys by a wire so it always works.

Thanks anyway.
I have had this exact problem twice with the same laptop. In both cases, I had to delete the printer and then do a reinstall. At least when I delete the printer, I am able to ping the IP address of the printer.
If you try reinstalling the printer using the CD installation wizard and receive an error message or unable to install, use the add printer wizard in windows and just locate the printer driver for your version of windows. This should solve this problem as it has done for me on two different occasions.
Thanks and hope this helps.
