Hi, config depends on the Wireless AP's make and model. But, by the sounds of what you are doing you need to ensure the AP's support 'WDS' this is the technical name for what you are trying to do.

In general, you connect AP 1 to location 1, and conect AP to to the second location, or other side of the building, then (and this is the part that depends on the make and model), you would usually under AP's web config select the WDS feature, and search for WDS supported devices wirelessly.

Let me know devices for more info.

Thanks I have got Dlink DWL-900AP+ and DWL-2100AP Access points, I do not know whether I should connect as bridge, wireless client or repeater. I can not figure out the difference btw these three words.

I think you are probably looking to use one as an AP and one as a repeater.  repeater will extend coverage of the same network.  Bridge will connect to AP of different networks.

Yes I want to use one to extend the coverage which means I am trying to configure one of the AP as repeater.

The DWL-2100AP supports WDS and WDS with AP, et al.
The DWL-900AP+ does not, and it's only 802.11b anyway.
Also, the DWL-900APs are no longer supported by DLink.

As far as how the DWL-900AP works in the modes you're asking about,

Bridge mode would talk only to another DWL-900AP in either Bridge mode or Multi-point Bridge mode and both ends take/send data outside that connection only through their ethernet ports. If the DWL-900AP is in Multi-point Bridge mode, the other DWL-900AP must be in Bridge mode (2 or more Multi-point Bridge mode APs can't talk directly to each other.. they must go through the one in Bridge mode, like a star topology).

Wireless Client mode is not unlike bridge mode except it will talk to wireless router/AP models other than just DWL-900AP... it should still require entry of a MAC address so it doesn't talk to anything else, but the other end doesn't need to have the DWL-900AP's MAC address entered in it.

Repeater mode accepts 11b signals from any device and rebroadcasts it to its destination (effectively cutting throughput in half)... this mode uses the ethernet port only for initial configuration.

AP mode sends/receives to/from multiple wireless clients and generally then receives/sends that same data through the ethernet port.

Anyway, you either want another DWL-2100AP or else switch to another company's products (I hesitate to recommend DLink as a primary supplier as they do not make documentation available for all their products online).

I use a Sitecom WL-130, this picks up a signal from the main access point some 25m away from it, then 25m further on i connect to the WL-130 on my laptop, giving me total of 50m +

The WL-130 can be configured to connect to existing wireless network using encrypted, any subsequent connections to it (WL-130) also use the same encryption credentials. This function is called wireless repeater. I'm sure this Sitecom WL-130 is a fairly standard type product, but i can point you in the right direction if you need to get hold of one.

Another comment, just to re-emphasise Darr247 comments :-

Bridge is where you have same model AP to AP connection with for example wired network at either side.

Wireless client, is used to turn Ethernet port into wireless, for example plug an eithernet cable from AP to ethernet in laptop, so laptop can connect to existing wireless network.

Repeater - is as i mentioned before, take existing wireless signal, then pass it forward.

Incedentially the device i use Sitecom WL-130 does all three..
