Vista won't connect to internet wireless local access only

Windows Vista on my laptop will not connect to the internet.  It connects to my network, but has local access only.

It looks like a problem with your router not Vista.
Do you have an access to Internet from your router?

Yes I can connect with it.  I have another computer that will also connect.  It uses a microsoft usb wireless device.  They all worked well for quite a while.  I could not connect to public wireless networks in motels while in the US this spring.  I have a cable modem.  The router is a Barricade SMC7004VWBR.

I think I have solved the problem.  I went into services.msc and everything was disabled for some reason.  Took awhile to turn everything to automatic and restarted.  It then connected right away.
