Question

Wireless Card Drivers Needed

Asked by: LuckyTxGuy

Hey guys and gals, I need some quick but important help. I bought an internal wireless card for a customer's Toshiba Satellite model # 1415-S173. The wireless card is an Askey Atheros PA3233U-1MPC. The problem I'm having is I can't find any drivers for it. The OS is XP and I've searched high and low and haven't managed to find much in the way of drivers, however the card is for sale all over the web, so I know the drivers are out there.

Any help locating the drivers for this would be a huge help! Thanks!!

Thanks Rindi, I'll don't see my customer's specific card mentioned there, but maybe the driver will work.....   I do not understand how such a commonly sold piece of hardware on the net can be so hard to find a driver for? I'll let you know if that works, if anyone finds anything else in the mean time please let me know!

Thanks

Jason

It helps if you can look at the card and get the part number of the Atheros chipset on it... then you can download whichever version you want from someplace like http://www.station-drivers.com/page/atheros.htm as most of the downloads there are categorized by chipset version.

BTW, I looked at a few of the popups there and they were all popunder ads, so don't bother disabling your popup blocker if you go there. :-|

Rindi, thanks for the help but none of those driver options worked. I went to my customer's office today and tried them with now luck. Thanks for trying though!

Darr, thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely give that a try. I will have to go back out to my customer's place and try that. I think they are beginning to think I'm incompetent or I sold them a junk part, neither of which I hope are true.lol Thanks again Darr and I'll let ya know what I find out......

Guess I'll be sending it back to the seller. I can't find a driver anywhere for it that will work. Seems odd these cards are for sale all over the net and no one has a driver?lol I emailed the manufacturer 10 days ago but they are in Taiwan and haven't replied.

Thanks for trying.

Did you try  the 5xxx drivers? e.g.
http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargement/atheros/atheros%20ar5xxx_760126-760224(www.station-drivers.com).exe

If you already sent it back, sorry I interrupted the process here.

Darr, thanks for the help. However, I eventually gave up because no driver that I could find or that I was referred to would work. The driver in your last link might have been it...not sure, because I've already returned the item. Thanks so much for the help on this problem.
