Yes, the setup CD should have made a route to 192.168.1.0 through the interface with the lowest metric, but if you have 3G or draft-n (or WiMAX, multiple ethernet, et al) interfaces in the laptop it may be adding the route to the wrong interface.
So forget the setup CD and assign a static IP as LucF outlined.
Leave the username blank, and the default password is admin when you get the login screen.

Hello TimLeslie,
Most likely the IP-range used on your computer isn't the same as the range the bridge is on.
Just put the computer onto a static IP before changing any settings in the bridge.
You can do this by going to Start => run => type "ncpa.cpl" and press enter => right-click on the used connection and choose "properties"
Here select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and choose properties.
At the following screen, please fill in the following details:
IP address : 192.168.1.25
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Other entries can remain empty, click OK and close the following window.
At this moment you should be able to setup the bridge through the cd-rom or through the setuppage which you can find at http://192.168.1.226
After finalizing the installation you can go back to the location described above and put the TCP/IP properties back on "automatic configuration", make sure also to put the DNS on automatic again.
If you're running into any problems, let me know.
Regards,
LucF
