linksys wireless-N broadband router model wrt160n

I have a linksys wireless-N WRT160N broadband router that I am trying to configure. I have two problems:

- the setup software is failing to detect the router (I followed the steps shown by the setup S/W)
- I tried to use the admin interface via browser. I get connected and I can access the admin page but it is not in English (I think german)

Any help is appreciated

you can try updating the firmware.  I did a screen capture of where the Firmware Upgrade is on my WRT350N.  I have a 160N at the office and, if I remember right, the firmware has, pretty much the same GUI.

I downloaded the firmware and tried to upgrade, I am not sure if the upgrade was successful or not,
what shout be the version?

The language problem was fixed and I could connect to the Internet. But why the setup program from CD still fail?

Hard to know.  Perhaps a third party program is in the way or wireless is turned off at either your pc or the router.  Is your wireless working?
