When I go to device manager it has a question mark next to Network Controller. I've googled the laptop brand and have found that I need AR5005g driver. I finally found a link to that driver her on this website but when I installed it it said it's not compatible with Windows Vista. Please help!

If you can think of anything that you've installed recently that may have affected it then that could be causing the problem, but the only way to know for sure is to reinstall your operating system and try to get it to run again.
But if there isn't anything that you can think of, just buy a new wireless card, you can get a half decent USB one for about $20
Definitely, you download the driver on their site which is NOT yet compatible with the OS vista. Tried to search again on their website and look for a driver which will run on Vista. A lot of people and manufacturer actually having a problem with that OS Vista for there;s a lot of adapter driver specially with versions don't come up yet or develop a driver that will run with Vista. Linksys for example have a lot of adapters but only a few models with specific version will work on Vista.
Even if you reinstall Vista you will still need to download that driver for your wireless card to work.
Good Luck my friend!
Drivers don't just disappear after a few years. Your card is probably faulty, as it is likely for frequently used cards such as wifi to fail after the 2 year mark. If you had an extended warranty then you may be able to get it repaired for free, otherwise you will either have to pay for the repair, buy a new laptop, or buy an external wireless card.

Sounds like the card might have died, unless you installed new software around the same time as it failing, in which case it could be a software conflict
