did you use the default installation of wss 3.0 (i.e. with the embedded sql database?)
logs/mjohn son/archiv e/2008/02/ 08/ moving- wss-3-0-da tabases.as px
i'm assuming this is true, and that it is the database that you need to move ... and not sharepoint itself.
