The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

We have a Windows 2003 Domain based setup in our School and from the network switch an enthernet connection is going to Linksys WAP54G (IIBM-AP1) Access Point which allows network connectivity to wi-fi enabled laptops.

Now we need to add one more Linksys WAP54G(IIBM-AP2)  in our setup to extend the coverage of IIBM-AP1 but want to keep the ssid as same and WAP2 password as same.

Tried second WAP54G (IIBM-AP2) to connect to IIBM-AP1 using AP-Client Mode, it could detect the IIBM-AP1 with ssid as 'wifi' and was able to connect to it from IIBM-AP2. The ssid of IIBM-AP2 was automatically reset as 'wifi' which was on IIBM-AP1. The IP address of IIBM-AP2 was also kept on the same lan network 192.168.1.245 (IIBM-AP1) and 192.168.1.246 (IIBM-AP2) and both have gateways as 192.168.1.2 (of our Windows 2003 server).

Laptop was able to detect 'wifi' ssid but its not able to connect to it and keeps saying connection timeout. Kindly note that the Firmware version of both Access Point is the same and the

Please let us know what is wrong and as said earlier we don't want to have a wired connection between these two APs.
