Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG

Hi,

I have the above card in a HP530.

If I force my Access Point to channel 52 to 136, the HP530 with the above wireless card cannot see it. I have the latest drivers installed.

Is this a limitation of the hardware?

Anyone got any ideas.

The maximum value on my 3945 wireless card is 11. Try channels for 1 to 11. ... Thinkpads_User

It works on channels 1 - 36 and from 149 to 161. just not the ones in the middle...
I don't know if we are talking about the same thing. The Device Properties (Hardware) go up to 11 channels. My Netopia Wireless Router (newish Business Class router) allows 11 channels. It says it is using channel 6. My Intel Proset tools also say Channel 6 is in use.

The 3945 is by now an old card. The newest Intel Drivers (14.02 in September this year) do not support the 3945 - it only goes as far as package 14.01 and the actual device driver is 13.4.

So I don't know how you get up to channel 36 and beyond unless the device assigning chanels is morphing the number you see into range 1 - 11.

Otherwise I don't know. ....Thinkpads_User
Also, what does Intel ProSet say about channel in use?   Intel ProSet Tools are in Control Panel normally.

Remember this is on the 5ghz range.

If I set my Access Point to 5Ghz and to be on any of the following channels 52, 56, 60, 64, 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128, 132 or 136, then the laptop doe not see the wireless network and will not connect to it.

if I fore the Access Point to be agin on the 5Ghz and any of the folowing channels then the laptop is happy and will connect, channels 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157 or 161.

Intel ProSet does not tell me anything as it has not connected to anything, or inface it can't even see the wireless network.

When i connect to any of the other channels it tells me that i'm connect to that channel as listed above.
