Sonicwall Wired and Wireless networks

Hi,
My sonicwall wired and wireless connected PCs do not see each other. The IP addresses go as 192.168. ... . ... and 172.16. ... . ...
How can I get them to get on the same network?

The 2 routers need to know how to route traffic to each other.  Create a static route.
On 2nd look I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.  Do you have 2 routers?  Or is this 1 device?  Do you want to keep them on different networks or do you want them in a single broadcast domain?

Hi,
Sorry for being short on info.
It is a wireless SW router, TZ205. I like the wired and the wireless connected PCs to talk to each other and let my server backup the wireless PCs.

The Problem is, that Sonicwall create different security Zones for each Network. But you can easly bring them together.

Go to -> Network -> Interfaces, Configure the W0 interface (For Built in WIFI). Select

Zone: WLAN
Mode: Layer 2 Bridge Mode
Bridget to X0 (Default LAN or your custom X interface)
OK

Reconnect the wireless Clients. They will get now a IP Adress from your default LAN. No customisation for the firewall is needed.

Thanks to both of you. These solutions sound very different to me. which one would be more secure?
Both are same secure. In the first version you disable the Firewall, in the second one you don't use it! To get more security on this, you can use a strong WPA2-PSK Password or better, using the SSO tool. The SSO Tool works "like" a radius request, together with an LDAP. But, if you are new to this and you have only a handfull of users, go with a 20 digit WPA Key and don't share it with your coworkers. For mobile phones and tablets i recommend a Guest wifi. You can easily set it up in the Sonicwall Firewall and give them a fixed bandwith and allow internet access only.

Hi,
I tried both solutions and none works.
The first one did not change anything but it went through.
The second one was rejected by the Sonic Wall router saying that "Portshield interfaces can not be assigned to L2 bridge pair".
Still my wired and wireless PCs do not connect to the network and I can not backup my wireless PC.
Please help.
Check out this link. It is what i wrote in my first post.

Did it work?
The Bridge comment above was EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you so much! This website is worth every penny!!!
still get the error when trying to activate the bridge between wlan and lan..
Portshield interfaces can not be assigned to L2 bridge pair".
I'm getting the same error. Ive done this procedure 100's of times before and it works fine, all of the sudden this new TZ105n is giving me this error with out of the box firmware, 1.10 and 1.12. Any ideas?
Ok so just for kicks I gave a unique subnet to each portshielded interface making them now static (X2 thru X4), in doing that I can now successfully bridge to the X0. Is this something new with the 5.8.1.10 and 5.8.1.12 sonicwall enhanced OS maybe? It'd be pretty terrible if so...
In the latest Firmeware, they removed some features, like Brigde W0+X2-4 to X0. So now you have to choose, do you want to bridge X2-4 to X0 or W0 to X0. There is a workaround. Install an older 5.8.x.x Firmware, Bridge the ports X2-4 and W0 to X0 and then upgrade the Firmware. In this case, all the bridged interfaces stay bridged. But, if you remove one, you can not add it again. Yes, this is pretty terrible.
I'm glad a stumbled across this post, I've just completed my NSAA CSSP course, as part of the course we got an NSA 220 so I thought I would replace my TZ210 at home and I can't put my sonicpoint into bridge mode.

Like kirchiri I have never had this problem before and I have setup hundreds of Sonicwalls.

I'm running 5.8.1.5 on my TZ210, no issues, I am running 5.8.1.12 on the NSA... why would this feature be removed?
Dell has ruined SonicWALL. We have never had so many problems with dropped VPn connections, dropped WAN connections, etc until recently. We manage 100+ SonicWALL devices and are rolling back firmware revisions to older versions to keep them stable...pathetic
Although it may be true that Dell has ruined Sonicwall, you can still bridge W0 to X0 and keep X2-4 portsheilded to X0 at the same time.

You have to unassign portshields to X2-X4.  Then L2 bridge W0 to X0.  THEN re-run the portshield wizard for Basic WAN/LAN Switch.  This will reconfigure portshields for X2-X4 to X0 and leave W0 and X0 bridged.

It is probably a bug in the firmware and not an intended change.  (my guess)
