missing base service device driver and trouble connecting to a wireless network
Trying to help tenants in my building. They have an older Toshiba P25 S487; I show manufactured around 2003.
Currently running Windows 7. I updated the building's internet service and they could no longer get onto the wireless network. When I search for the networks from the systems tray, the network shows up with a big red 'x' next to it.
The error I get at THIS point is "The capability of your network adapter does not match the requirements of this network".
Tried to fix it but discovered in the process that the Base Service Device Driver was out of date. Tried to update the driver online and could not find a driver for an OS later than Windows XP.
THEN, I deleted the "Other Devices" (I THINK that's what it was called) in the Device Driver, so now the Base Service Device driver does not show up at all.
At my wit's end on this one folks.....any help greatly appreciated!

YEAH! This worked. Once I unsecured the guest network, they could get on just fine. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Old network: Security Type Unsecured]Radio Type 802.11g
New network: Security Type WPA-PSK Radio Type 802.11g
soooo.....let me go and try to find out how to 'un-secure' this new guest network. If you can guide me, that would be great. In the meantime, I'll call century link and check back here later.
