Are there Wireless Range Extenders for wireless 802.11 N Security Camera? How about 802.11ac?
I am trying to get the maximum range for WiFi. Years ago, I remember there were directional wireless antennas for 802.11 G
I have a security camera that I need to set up at the entrance of the drive. (There is power there for the camera.) There is a garage in between the entrance of the drive and the main house. There is some distance involved. Wireless N won't reach the house from the drive. All that I can think of is to place the main wireless access point in the house, and an access point configured as a repeater in the garage.
Are there directional antennas for 802.11n ? Does 802.11ac make a good directional connection between the house and the garage?
Thanks.

Your suggestion was good for the wireless access point part of the question.
For the camera part, I found that FosCam has an antenna that should extend the range.

Glad I could be of assistance.

Would attaching an antenna to the access point in the garage allow the camera to be further away.
IF so, what model access point has the best range.
