The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Amplifying voice sent over a Bluetooth to the PC speakers
Tags: Windows XP, Bluetooth, wireless mic and earphone, Audio910
The objective is to amplify voice sent wirelessly to a PC for amplification using the sound card in a PC.

I need to amplify the presenters  voice using the sound card  in a laptop. I have a set of speakers which can amplify audio, attached to laptop.

I have a Audo910 blue tooth ear and mouthpiece which can be connected to the laptop by a USB dongle.
This device is made for Skype. I intent to use it for my desired purpose. So that the speaker can speak at a distance from the laptop and get the voice amplified. The device is able to send voice to the PC but it cannot be amplified as desired.

How can get the voice amplified  and what software can I use ?
Welcome any idea which could address the above issue.

Any suggestion how any other bluetooth device could be used would also be welcome.

All replies will be appreciated.

Just to clarify, are you looking to amplify the transmission from the microphone to the micrphone input of the Laptop? Or are you looking for a better output? Both? Are you getting output now from the pc when using the mic?

Couple of things:

You can amplify the mic output to get a stronger signal to the receiver, but that only goes so far because the inputs are clamped to prevent damage and are held at a milli-volt level. To get a high-quality, I would recommand a PCMCIA card, a Soundblaster type, to get better audio out. Connecting the output to a very goos set of amplified speakers should serve you well.

Yes,  I would like to amplify the output from the wireless mic which is a bluetooth device.
Ideally if I could get the out put of the wireless mic to the input of the laptop mic the problem could be resolved.  I am not sure how this could be done. The wireless mic communicated with the laptop via a dongle and is designed to work with VOIP calls.

What I am trying to acheive is to make use of the notebook, to send the recvd audio from the wireless mic to the speakers. The speakers have a built in amplifer.

You are not going to find any external amplifier that will take your wireless mic output and increase the range or signal output. You would need to purchase a very high quality (in the $120-300 range) to accomplish what you want. A wired mic would be a different story. Bluetooth is designed for a specific frequency, with an individualized carrier (which is why two of the same models can be used simultaneously). You are better off with either a wired system, or a bluetooth package that includes the wireless mic and amplifier with speakers. Some sets will allow you to channel the output from the speakers to another amplifier and speakers, thereby significantly increasing the power output.

flubbster;
Thanks you your pointers and time.

There seems to be no direct solutions to the problem. So I am looking for some other solutions. The output from the Audio910 cannot be amplified with various type of hardware  tested.

However, a  solution has been found but its not neat enough as extra hard ware is needed.
What we have is Audio910 >> via bluetooth >> PC1 ( Skype) ..via internet......PC2(Skype) to get output on speaker + amplification.

We used  two PCs connected via SkyPe and the second PC gives the output amplified.

If you have any comments on the above if will be appreciated.
