HOw do I connect to GPRS through Hyper terminal

Dear Friends,

I am very new to this GPRS arena.....I have one Sony Ericcsson T65 model handset for conneting to GPRS + one cable that will connect to the PCs COM1. I have set the APN name in the T65 handset. Cable driver i have installed in the PC.

Through HYPERTEMINAL HOW DO I  access the internet server?Is there any other way to connect to the Net through GPRS like creating one dialup connection e.t.c? What is the command i need to put in the HYPERTERMINAL? I heard that the following command we can use in Hyperterminal is it so?

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP address ","APN NAME",1,1

How do i connect to hyperterminal ? is it through COM1 or Ericcsson T65 cable modem?

Hi,

Very very very easy...

Yes you can create a dialup connection through the GPRS modem included in your phone and browse the web by this mean...

But.. you have to get the needed information from you telephone company... username/password/dial/DNS..
and then you can you can use your phone as any modem...

Just make sure to set in your IE setting the default "preferred" mode of connection using the newly GPRS dial up that you've just created...

"""How do i connect to hyperterminal ? is it through COM1 or Ericcsson T65 cable modem?""" In fact when you gsm will be connected to USB to your pc, during the installation he will set it on a COM port... nevertheless, you need the ericsson drive to install it on your PC

Another thing to be informed of... it may be that your modem doesnt support all the AT command... it is very often not well documented... for instance my T720 doesnt support ATDT, nor AT command to send SMS... :((((

Hi shibu1:

Through Window's  it's very easy to access internet . just add T65 as new modem/new connections.

But through hyperterminal it's impossible.  you need tcp/ip include in T65  which until now no any phones have this features.  so you have to buy a chip that do this TCP/IP job.
