Question

sending data over gprs with at commands

Asked by: ak0s

HI!
i have a problem. I want to make a gprs network and send and recieve few bits of data between two gprs modemes connected to a pc using ONLY at commands (these modems will be connected to PLCs but if i can make it on pc with only at commands and hyper terminal it will be ok)

So could anyone please explain me the steps

i will use wavecom fastrack modems on com1 on both sides.

i have fixed ip sim cards, i need the basic steps to make the connection (i think it must be PPP) and the method how to send and recieve data

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP

Please replace your Wavecom modems too the terminal as below:
http://www.roundsolutions.com/gsm-terminal/index.htm
Benefits:
- You will get an embedded TCP/IP stack and can send "Hello World" from your PLC to the other PLC
- You can run Python scripts inside the modem. Based on Python any device with serial port can access to Internet cheap and easy
- You will get access to the world wide biggest user forum for GSM / GPRS / UMTS / GPS / Bluetooth applications free of charge by buying a starter kit (4000+ members)
- You get your support quickly and have not to wait that someone jumps in a thread

I do not have the possibilty to change the modem.

Wavecom should also have a tcp stack, unfortunatly mine has not (although in the tech specification it says so)

But i learned that this tcp stack is only some sort  of plugin for the modems operating system (Open AT)

could anybody help me wtih this?

where can i get this tcp stack? it is called eDsoft or WipLib. Is it free?

it is a file with the extension .dwl, it can be uloaded to the modem with hyper terminal's  send file

Wavecom's tech support won't answer my email!

thank you
