Peer to peer GPRS connection

Hi there

I have absolutely zero idea on how to work with GPRS. I have used GSM for simple SMS's, but now I need to do some work using GPRS to connect two of our devices together.

Is there a way to do a peer to peer connection like this. Also, as I have no idea on GPRS at all, if anyone could please point me in the right direction to get some tutorials or example code, etc that would be great...

i dont think thats possible. the other phone is not a gprs server where you can connect.

Hi there,

I have found a solution to this problem.

Thanks Mikal613, I appreciate the input, but I have found that it is possible. The only problem is that when the networks reassign IP Addresses the unit needs to update the remote units, either by SMS or by writing the new IP address to a webserver that the remote units can read before trying to connect.

A second problem is that some cellphone providers block all incoming ports and you have to request that they be opened on the sim card.

Anyway, not sure what happens now, can this question be closed and points refunded?
