how to insert a NEW LINE character in the message?

Hi friends

I need to send a message that will be broken into 2 or 3 lines.  so how to insert a NEWline character in between the message.  I tried with \r, \n, 0x0D, 0x0A, <CR><LF>, etc.  but it is not working.  All i get is r, n, and the <CR><LF> as it is in the message.   I got struck somewhere but couldnt figure out where i am wrong.

Like for example the sentence "This is a test Message", I want to display it as :

This
is
a
Test Message

And what charset should I use.  I tried with GSM,PCCP437,HEX,etc.

Any suggestions please.

Hi friends,

i solved the above problem by setting the charset to PCCP437 (default) and inserting "\n" in between
the message to get a new line.  Thanks to all.

How do I change character set in Nokia 3310?
I don't know what the default character set is, but "\n" doesn't work.
As per Nokia user guide we can change character set at
Messages-MessageSettings-Common-CharacterSupport.
However in my handset this option is not available. Does it depends on Service provider?

Is there any workaround? Can we set character set for a particular message following some message format?
