Program for two-way SMS via Microsoft PC

I'm looking for the capability to have a device hooked up to a workstation or server (SMS modem or phone) and to be able to send and receive SMS's via a computer program. I see many programs for sending (sms or sms via email), it's the receiving I'm after. Ideally this would be integrated into someting like Outlook, where a message and senders number could be read by a program and render automatically in a spreadsheet, database or as a posting in Outlook. This would be utilized my very non-technical people to enable bidirection sms communication so it needs to be very simple and stable. I'm thinking of either running it on a central server if I can populate a database with info, or tie it to a workstation and have one dedicated individual handle the communications. Need to have a dedicated number to receive sms messages that are initiated externally. Thanks in advance for any leads!!

You'll need a SMS server or gateway to do this. You'll also need an account with a SMS provider, to allow you to transmit and receive the SMS messages.

Been to two of these sites already.  The notepage looks oneway. THe Ozeki looked promising but requires the server version to receive, Activeexperts looked confusing and like it would require development. Trying to keep the infrastructure small. This I've looked at gateways and sim hosting. The can get expensive if you want two way and use a dedicated number. I see a ton of free seftware out there that lets you teather off your phone and send sms messages but nothing for reading meassages in. Even if there was some kind of sync software that would read the sms replyies and sync them into outlook.  We want to use this in case of emergency to send out SMS messages from a laptop via cell phone/modem and read the back in easily. Know of any specific phone and software combinations that can do this? Thanks

Thanks for the assistance, I went with vendor "RedOyxgen" that does behave as an SMS gateway but has a decent application that intergrates with Outlook and allows users to send & receive from Outlook using Outlook contacts. Not the solution I was looking for but close emaough.
