Sending MMS from PC to handphone.

Hi,

I want to develop a java application that can send MMS from PC to handphone. I found out that I can use MMS Java Library from Nokia to compose the MMS and send it using WAP stack. Now, I am using jWAP as the WAP stack. But I am a bit confused about the headers and the sending part.

I understand that the step to send mms is:

PC -> connect to GPRS -> connect to WAP gateway -> connect to MMSC, post the file and the rest we leave it for the MMSC to send the MMS to the handphone.

I am able to connect to GPRS and WAP gateway but I can not connect to MMSC eventhough I use the URL given by my local provider.
Can somebody help me in explaining wat is the header and how to send the MMS file? Wat is the MMS file extension? .mms or .smil?
can provide me with some kind of url or sample code? Thank you in advance.

MMS is more complicated than SMS.

Here are some links that explain how MMS works, and the two approaches that can be used for sending MMS (which approach you use depends on whether or not your mobile operator has blocked access to external MMSCs).

As an alternative to MMS, NowSMS also supports a Multimedia WAP Push object where MMS type objects (images, ring tones, etc.) can be sent to a device over WAP push instead of MMS.

I understand that when a handphone receive MMS rite, It actually receives the MMS notification containing a header and the URL pointer. from the WAP gateway. but wat actually is sent to the WAP gateway from the client? in my case its a PC.

OK. answering my own question...

Finally I've managed to send MMS from PC to handphone using Java....
To be able to send MMS, firstly, we need to connect to WAP gateway and then to the MMSC.
Both MMS and the WAP gateway is the local provider's IP address and URL...
Don't put the wrong URL or you have to debug it for a month... like me....
ok then I compose the MMS by using Nokia Java MMS library and send it by using jWAP library...

how to get connected to WAP gateway and then to MMSC from pc, to send mms from pc to cellphone,.is it necessary to connect to GPRS?
