Wireless Constantly Disconnecting

Asked by recruitit in Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), Wireless Network Cards & Adapters

Have a machine here using a Linksys Wireless G PCI (WMP54G) card.

Its accessing a WAP (Wireless Access Point) in the next room of the office, no obstructions between the Wireless card and the WAP point.  The signal strength is always on 5 Bars, yet the wireless constantly disconnects, since the user has software that relies on having an open connection, the software crashes each time the wireless disconnects.

I have tried all the wireless channels on the WAP device (6,9,11) except for 1 but at the moment it looks highly unlikely to solve the problem.

Updated drivers and checked for roaming settings in the drivers are but it doesnt appear to have any roaming settings.

Checked the event log and there isnt anything of signifigance to note except for the logs saying the connection has disconnected etc.

His wireless does have other wireless networks visible that do not belong to us but I cant imagine it trying to connect to other networks on its own free will.

Any ideas?
