Did you set the 'IP helper-address' to that of the DHCP server on the AP's VLAN?

Browse All TopicsI have a pair of Cisco 1252 AP's set up as root and non root bridge mode. I use the 5GHz radio for the bridge and the 2.4 GHz radios for wireless clients. The bridge pair are working and have a dot11 association to each other. My problem is that I cannot get an ip address through the non root bridge to the wireless clients. I have a valid DHCP server on the LAN and the root bridge is able to make dot11 associations to clinets and pass the ip address throught to the clients. I do have multiple vlans that are identified by the SSID.

The solution turned out to be that I had to add the other vlans/SSID's to the 5 GHz radio also. I had enabled multiple client vlans/SSID's via 802.1Q trunking on the 2.4 GHz radios however I was using the 5 GHz radio for the bridge. When I included the vlans/SSIDs on the 5GHz radio the ip address came through.
