I am attempting to use MAC authentication in IAS by setting up the MAC address as a "username" in a dedicated OU, and I think the problem may be with the MAC "password." What, exactly, does the Cisco AP pass to IAS/AD as the password for the MAC address? Is it the MAC address as well?

Hi,

it seems you have to use the AP shared secret as password
Found this on
http://techrepublic.com.co
Step 4
Create users with the MAC address as usernames and the Access Point shared secret as the password. Make these users members of the Security group you created in the previous step.
If you start having to much trouble, verify the security logs in IAS for further info
