I have a HP network printer configured via AS/400 to printer generated reports. The operators cannot successfully sent reports to Network Printer. I performed checks using "GO PRINTER" and choosing option 4 "Work with printer device status". Its status was VARIED OFF. Attempts to VARY ON failed and message displayed from system log
Message . . . . : Device COMPROOM configuration not valid. Reason code 2301. Cause . . . . . : Vary Configuration (VRYCFG) command failed. Reason codes and their meanings follow: --2301: A device that is not attached to a controller description cannot be varied on.
Can you please provide details where I can locate/identify controller information to resolve the same. It was an active functional printer for some time.
