I've tried iTunes and to be blunt I don't like it. I know this is heresy, but it strikes me that iTunes is just a way of Apple selling music through their website. IMHO it is definitely not "the best music player" as Apple would have you believe.
Some issues:
- it copies my MP3 collection into its own managed area. I am quite happy with my file structure, why can't it use that?
- How do you delete duplicate entries from playlists?
- How do you manage your music - I have all my CDs in MP3 format which takes up about 60Gb on an external disc. I just want to copy a sub-section to my disc and add/delete items as necessary.
- Do you have to buy the very overpriced music from the iTunes store? Are there alternative sites? It's often *much* cheaper to buy the CD from Amazon.co.uk! I tend to listen to lots of '70s stuff which is now far cheaper than iTunes.
Question: what's the best alternative media player to iTunes?
Cheers,
Glenn
