The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Windows and MAC iBook - Does it work

Asked by S3quence in Apple Operating Systems, Apple Laptop, Appletalk

Hello All,

Quick question and probably a stupid one!!

I am considering buying a MAC iBook. Though for the near future (6months) i need access to the Windows operating system.

Is there a way of Installing Windows XP on this iBook, or even better (though i think i already know the answer) dual booting the 2

The reason i ask is that i really like the MAC OS but for my current role I need, for the moment access to core applications for work. My role covers alot so it is not workable for me to use Virtual PC. For example i run Visual Studio 2003, SQL MSDE, IIS for front end web server testing to name a few as well as lots of other software. Another main reason is that all the software i use Office, dreamweaver, photoshop for example is all paid for by my company and there is no way i could squeeze a licence for the MAC Version out of them so would have to pay for the applications myself (Limited funds - especially if i buy the iBook)

I want this option (even if i have to format and install just XP) so i can slowly ween my way off the PC as and when i buy the software i need and will eventually buy a small pc for the needs of the Windows Operating System

Can someone help me make this transtion??

Thanks
