First of all my experience with Mac's is limited and I'm sure I am overlooking something simple but am hoping for some help from the Mac pro's here.
I have client with a Mac with OS X which recieves email and internet via a direct connection to a cable modem. Both email and internet access have been working fine. Today I installed a D-link WBR 2310 wireless router and since having done so the Mac cannot access email, internet however works fine. When trying to send/recieve email there are errors when trying to connect to POP3 and SMTP ports 110 and 25 respectively. This is using Mac Mail. I have checked the Mac firewall and it is not enabled. I have tried alternative mail server names to no avail. IP addresses are via DHCP which I have renewed manually and by restarting the OS. When I remove the router from the mix and connect the Mac directly to the modem, renew the address, then everything is fine again. I see nothing in the router that blocks POP3 and SMTP, I left the router at it's defaults while troubleshooting this. I have tried all the normal stuff in troubleshooting this but seeing that my Mac skills are limited would really appreciate some input.
Thanks :)
