help with bandwidth control

How I am going to control my bandwidth using either mod_throttle or some good software you may advise

i wanted to limit the bandwidth in certain directory how I am going to limit the bandwidth such as 20MB bandwidth in my test directory using mod_throttle

Within a <VirtualHost>, <Directory> or <Location> context you could use:

ThrottlePolicy Volume 20M 1h

to limit bandwidth usage to 20 megabyes per hour. The full description of mod_throttle can be seen at

hi i limit that bandwidth thing my question is once i set that 20mb 1hr if it goes 21mb 1hr what it will do , like does it give any error message or what ?

addition to Jim's comment:

Quick suggestion would be setting a limit to something small, and small timeframe, so that you could test.

Maybe

ThrottlePolicy Volume 10K 5m

# 1 kilobytes for 5 minutes

This setting should trigger the limit anytime :)
