I have ESXi on a HP DL380 G4 with only 32bit guests since although the CPU's arex86-64 capable they do not have the VT instruction set hence why I can't run 64bit natively under guests.
Due to this does anyone know if there is a RCLI version that is 32bit instead of 64bit?

Did you try the 32 bit Remote CLI appliance (Virtual appliance for the VMware Infrastructure Remote CLI) ? It doesn't require VT in order to work:

The G4 doesn't support both EM64T and VT, they only support EM64T so you won't be able to run 64 bit guests on VMware.

This issue is still outstanding. The DL380G4 does not have the VT option in the bios. It is simply not there. I have applicad the latest revision of the bios and still nothing. But they are dual core Xeon processors that support VT technology.
Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved or what is the hack to hack the DL380GB bios and enable the VT option so it will support the technology?
The 380G4 does not support Xeon models that has VT support, only EM64T. This means that you can run a 64 bit OS natively, but not under VMware.

The closest thing to a 32 bit VIMA is the RCLI, but it still lack a few features that VIMA has got. I don't think it's easily possible to move the missing tools from the 64 bit VIMA into a 32 bit VM.
You would probably be able to run the 64 bit VIMA appliance natively on a 380G4 if you do a v2p, but then you wouldn't be able to run any VMs there...
Best thing is to have a 64bit (+VT) capable hw somewhere. It's also a requirement if you want to upgrade to v4.

Snapshots are always something one should be careful with, and especially for systems that are synced (AD, mirrored SQL dbs, etc...). One should also note that each snapshot can grow up to the same size as the original vmdk file. I have seen snapshots that grow 100GB per day and you might get in trouble if your LUN is filled when a snapshot is active as the snapshot may get corrupted.

Setting the VT is just a BIOS option. Just reboot, jump into the BIOS and set it and you are rocking....
