Bringing up br0: Bridge support not available in this kernel
I am regular reader of PC QUEST and try to work with utilities given. With March 2008 edition PC QUEST , I am facing following issue . (Also attached softcopy of the page 80 of PCQ Linux) I have successfully installed PCQLinux2008 from the CD got it from the PCQuest magazine(Mar 2008 edition). My network is configured with DHCP enabled . I have done "yum update" to get the latest updates. I have also added virtual appliance of WebMeeting in virtualbox as per the instructions given in the magazine.
As per the page 80(Also attached herewith), I followed the steps to "setup the appliances to network" & also setup "a tap network". But when i reboot the system it gives message "Bringing up br0: Bridge support not available in this kernel". Also my eth0 network gets inactive, i am not able to get any ip address.
Also when i start my VirtualBox "Web Meeting Appliance", it is not able to get any ip address. But i am able to see my Web Meeting page by starting "Webhuddle". I am not able to get how to make my local machine and Virtual Machine (VirtualBox) communicate.
Could let me know the complete set up of brigde "Step by Step" and to work with Web Meeting.
It will be great if you guide / help to resolve this issue.
The problem here is the kernel is trying to activate the bridging. but your current kernel d1es not support bridging. It is normally included in the kernel but I guerss your current kernel as most distros do did not compile the device or you dont have bridge utils installed.
