How to run a file with extension jnlp

Say, I'm on CentOS 5.3 and have executed yum install java
When I download file.jnlp in firefox I can't launch it?
What must I do?

I would save the file then run "file" on it. "file" works by examining the file contents (rather than the name suffix) and has a surprisingly large database of application types (it surprises me from time to time anyway).
I've included a few examples of what you can expect below. If it comes back "binary data", you're out of luck

I know java is needed to run it....

What now?

You need to run it with javaws (java Web Start)
it should be in your< java directory>/bin/javaws

First try searching for it
sudo find / -name javaws
and telling Firefox to use that application to open the file.
 If javaws doesn't exist you may need to install the full java SDK from sun (java.sun.com)

Tx. I don't find it. How do I donwload the full SDK
yum install java was obviously not enough

go to:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
select the one you want (probably JDK 6 Update 16) select the linux version, download it (2 choices, go for the rpm, as you are on centos) and install that with rpm -i
