updates to debian stable,testing,unstable

Relatively new to debian and curious as to when version upgrades of packages are loaded to the stable distribution.

A good example is inkscape

0.44 is in etch
0.45 is in lenny
0.46 is in sid

will 0.45 ever make it to etch
will 0.46 be available later as an update in lenny

as new versions of inkscape are released , 0.47 , 0.48 , etc when do they become available in sid (unstable)Start Free Trial
