UBUNTU linux missing operating system

Hi,
I am trying to boot my system through pendrive in which i have the iso image of ubuntu linux8 .10. But it says missing operating system...
What could bethe reason..please help...

Have you put the iso simply on the pen drive?
Did you set the system to boot from USB ?
Does it support boot from USB ?

I am trying to boot my system through pendrive in which i have the iso image of ubuntu linux8 .10. But it says missing operating system...

I have copied  iso simply to the pen drive
I have set the system to boot from USB
It  support boot from USB
Please let meknow what thsi mssing opeartings ystem meassage is getting displayed...?

ignore my last image
i have put the iso using:
system->administration->create a USB start up disk.
ya i set the system to boot from USB, and system also supports boot from USB

well the one thing left to check is to check the iso image md5 sum

we checked as u told, the md5sum is same for downloaded iso and UbuntuHashes. still getting the same error.

Have you tried using "UNetbootin", as I suggested to you in your other thread?

Also, there is a chance that not all pen drives are bootable on all systems. Similar incompatibilities are known about CD and DVD media. have you already tried using a different stick?
