replacing a NIC card

Asked by paries in Fedora Linux, Linux Networking

Hello,
I am replacing a NIC card on my FC4 box
it is a different chipset.
1) how to i tell FC4 to use a new driver for a new NIC card?
2) how can i tell what driver it is using at the time?

I did already try it once, and the interface said it was up, but i could not ping anything. So the old one is back in there.
