I need a step by step guide one how to make an RPM after compiling from source on Fedora 8.
I am not being lazy. I've looked through many infos about rpm on fedora and redhat sites and wikis but they are all overly complicated for what i need. I just want to be able to use my favorite programs the day they come out (like firefox azureus amarok php avant etc.). Doing a regular configure-make-make install routing tends to mess things up: either the file structure does not follow the standard of the distro or there is no way to uninstall/upgrade later. So i want to make an rpm of, for example, latest amarok compiled from source.
Also i will need to make an rpm of programs already in binary like azureus.
Thanks for any tips!
