Fedora 8 Graphics Issue (input not supported/out of range) on gui load

Asked by moosecaboose in Fedora Linux, Linux Setup

Tags: Linux, Fedora 8

I've just installed Fedora 8 (64Bit) which was successful.
I have a problem on boot. It gets to the stage where it asks "Press I for interactive startup" and the screen cuts out. the monitor I use says "input not supported" and a CRT i also tested says "Out Of range"

Is there a way I can use GRUB to tell linux to use a lower resoloution or a different low graphics mode so I can get into KDE/Gnome to configure it properly. GRUB is the only point I can get to where I have the option to input something.

The machine is a Dell 745 using an Intel Q965/Q963 graphics card (onboard). using SVGA component out.
