You will also need some other rpms eg gcc, rpm-build & mysql-devel

Browse All Topics Hi!
I'm planning to upgrade my F8 server to F9 using preupgrade. I have Postfix with MySQl support installed and DBMail IMAP on my F8 and it is working very well.
As I understand then the Postfix RPM on Fedora doesn't have the MySQL support configured by default so I have to configure it myself and rebuild the Postfix RPM.
I have tried to google for some how-to-s for F9 but I haven't found anything that I find useful yet.
Can you help me in this either by giving me step by step instructions or a link to a useful how-to page. :)
Other thing. Have you upgraded using preupgrade and how did it do for you ?
Best regards,
Tomas Helgi

Thanks, for this answer.
When I ran preupgrade and upgraded my Fedora 8 to Fedora 10 (the Fedora 9 was not in the list so only thing was to choose Fedora 10 from the list of Fedora 10 & 11)
and postfix was upgraded with the mysql support enabled. :)
So I didn't have to config & compile it myself however this would be the way to do it. :)

Its a little while since I did this but it goes something like this.
Get the srpm file from your source distro.
install it.
cd /usr/src/redhat/SPECS
edit the postfix.spec and change the options at the top of the file.
eg change MYSQL from 0 to 1
then
# rpmbuild -ba postfix.spec
