Question

Network NFS install of Fedora 11

I am setting up an NFS server to install Fedora 11 across the network.

I have successfully performed this using Fedora 8 with the CD files downloaded from the Fedora Project site. This time I am trying to use the DVD iso image from the Fedora Project site, put when I attempt to access the installation files from the NFS share on the server I receive the error The location does not appear to contain a valid installation tree

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

You may be using an older version of NFS (v2), or a poorly (old-ish) configured NFSv3 -- either way, it appears to ME that your method (that you're already using and comfortable with) could work, except that the filesize limit is 2GB -- and the DVD is likely 3.5 GB in size...

Instead of NFS mounting a single DVD image, instead mount each of the CD images separately... your install should work flawlessly from there...
