Thanks. I was looking right past it in the list and I didn't know the virtual desktop would be called pager. The title didn't seem to fit the function :)

Taskbar issues (not showing open windows and virtual desktops)
** Working with Mandrake Limited Edition 2005 and KDE version 3.3
The virtual desktop selector used to how up in taskbar but is now gone. Could not find setting to bring it back. When opening applications, the app does not show up in the taskbar. When minimizing the application, it goes away (or so it seems). I can still Alt-Tab to find to applications and Ctrl-Tab to get to the other virtual desktops, but not from the taskbar like it used to be.
As I am still kinda new to Mandrake and KDE, any detailed instructions would be appreciated.

Right click on the task bar
Configure Panel
Taskbar on the left
Read the options here very carefully, you will find you have something checked or unchecked you shouldn't.
As for the virtual desktop selector:
Right click on the task bar
Add Applet and look for Desktop preview and pager
This should fix up both your issues.
