Update from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 fails due to fetch error
The update goes well until it wants to fetch this file:
Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/x/xserver-xorg-video-vmware/xserver-xorg-video-vmware_13.0.2-2ubuntu1_amd64.deb Connection failed [IP: 91.189.91.13 80]
Any work-arounds?
I checked this on two servers and both have the same error.
Help. Thanks.

Strange. Did you try and select another mirror or comment out the .us mirror(s) from /etc/apt/sources.list ?

Hi @Gerwin, still the same issues. Tried two different mirrors.
Do you know, if it is possible to download the update to a DVD and use that as a source?

I don't - I've done updates online until now. Booting from the 14.04 DVD (install option) should give you the upgrade option. I cannot try this for you atm, but if you do, be sure to create a full backup of your existing system (as a precaution).

If upgrade fails in fetch phase no software was changend and you can just try again.
