I don't - I've done updates online until now. Booting from the 14.04 DVD (install option) <i>should </i>give you the upgrade option. I cannot try this for you atm, but if you do, be sure to create a full backup of your existing system (as a precaution).

If upgrade fails in fetch phase no software was changend and you can just try again.
