Device or resource busy error message when trying to remove  a directory.

Asked by Simon336697 in Red Hat Linux, Linux Administration

Hi guys!

Im trying to unmount a directory which points to a remote share.
I have unmounted it successfully, and now I want to remove this mount.
The mount is /mnt/netbackups
I keep getting the message...
rm: cannot remove directory 'netbackups': Device or resource busy.

Is this some kind of a lock on this folder?

Is there any way for me to check if this is the case, and how can i remove this directory?

I have restarted the smb services to no effect.

Any help greatly appreciated.
