linux usb port reset

sometimes my bus usb stop works. linux reboot does not help. the problem disapers only with a complete shutdown and restat. Unfortunatelly i cannot easy shutdown the machine; for this reason I am looking for a software solution

Hi,

Please paste the output of these commands,

cat /etc/issue
lspci
lsusb

also dmesg before and after the port becoming unusable. This would help in finding a solution.
