dont worry.
i used the other usb and it mounted.
then went to /mnt/sdb/
the files were there
opened terminal and typed: rmdir /mnt/sdb1
removed the usb pen
inserted the new usb drive
it then did not auto detect so from terminal i typed: mount -t /mnt/sdb1 /mnt/usb
this mounted theusb and i was able to save my files
im pleased with myself now lol
im learning linux the trial and error way lol
