i can see the .kde folder but there's no folder in there called Autostart...
any other ideas????

Browse All TopicsI'm trying to get firefox to startup at boot.
I'm trying to make the machine act like a Kiosk, i've got firefox to run in a full screen window with no menu's buttons etc... just can't figure out how to get it to auto-run at boot...
Google'd this to death now and been looking for the folder /user/Autostart/ to add firefox in there but it doesn't appear to be on this version of linux..
Running on a Asus Eee PC 4G, Xandros easy desktop
My appologies as i'm a windows guy and linux is a bit of a foreign language to me... hope someone can help..

Hmmm, try create that directory manually and see if it works. Make sure the permissions and owner are all correct on the Autostart directory once you have created it. Then add whatever you need into there. Make sure its Autostart and not autostart. That could cause issues as well.
Hopefully that works.

Yes you can do that. Open Xandros File Manager, set it so that you can view hidden files, then click on your home folder and under it you will see a folder named .kde. The period before "kde" means that this folder is normally hidden. Under that folder you should see a folder named "AutoStart". Any program, or link to a program, that you put in that folder, will start when the KDE desktop starts.
