Trying to get a NIC card recognized by the software used in Linux Router Project

Hi
If wrong forum, just say so and I'll try hardware or wherever I'm pointed to. I'm trying to get Network printing going using Linux Router Project software. It will load, beep 3 times and if I try to print, nothing happens. By trouble shooting using the Low Cost LRP Print Server, Trouble Shooting Guide I can't get a response to any inquires for cat/proc/interrupts | grep eth0 and cat/proc/ioports| grep par, just for the record I have booted up using the LRP print server floppy, logged in as root, typed q to drop to the command prompt. All other inquirys test okay.

I used Wimimage to create the floppy and as per instructions inculded the Linux Driver for a Linksys NIC card PCI bus on the floppy..If one goes to the rear of the PC there are two lit lights on the NIC card, as are the proper lights for the ethernet cable for this card lit on my Linksys Router. Award Bios v4.51 shows the following for a Network Controller from left to right across the screen 0 10 0 11AD C115 and finally IRQ 10. I am trying to become more knowledgeable about Linux and hoped that this would be a way to utilize a old pc and learn something at the same time.
