I have HP PSC 1402 printer installed with Windows XP machine on my LAN. I want to connect that printer with a Ubuntu 9 box on the same network. It is installed without problems but when I send something to the printer the printer's light starts blinking but nothing prints-out. Windows XP also shows the job in its queue. I just send the test page but when I saw the size of print job on XP it amazed me. It was over 7 MB.
Any ideas to fix this?

Is the printer connected to a com port on the Windows machine or does it have its own network connection and IP address?
