Here is alisting from my /dev directory regarding what I would assubme to be a rmt device.
ls -l | grep rmt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 40960 Apr 10 10:44 rmt0
crw-rw---- 1 root disk 12, 8 Aug 30 2001 rmt16
crw-rw---- 1 root disk 12, 6 Aug 30 2001 rmt8
As you can see I do have an rmt0 ! however... If i do:
mt -f /dev/rmt0 status
/dev/rmt0: Inappropriate ioctl for device
My question: does anyone know how to get this to respond? If i can get it to even say "hi im here use me" :) I would be more than happy! I am pretty good at linux but kind of new to this portion of it, my expertise is more on the security side of it. I just would like to do some backups.
Does anyone have any links? or tips? Help!
