Linux AntiVirus and Firewall

I am going to install Red Hat 9.0 on my brother's machine. I had installed it, but the hard drive died and we are waiting for a replacement.

He ordered Norton Internet Firewall 2004 and has NAV 2003, not sure if these will work with WINE or WINEX.

So I thought I'd ask about Linux native Firewalls and AntiVirus programs.

They have to be:

#1 Free or Open Sourced.

#2 Easy to update.

#3 Have a GUI interface as my brother is not a Linux expert and is starting to learn Linux.

#4 Be effective enough to protect the system from most attacks and viruses.

I should be able to install Red hat 9.0 in a week or whenever the replacement hard drive comes in.

He is a game player, so we will be using WINE or WINEX to play Windows games like Diablo 2 and Worlds Of Warcraft. WoW hasn't been shipped yet but is back ordered.
