cyclical rpm problem

I am trying to remove a MySQL rpm and I have run into a cyclical problem

# rpm --erase mysql-3.23.58-1.9
error: Failed dependencies:
        libmysqlclient.so.10 is needed by (installed) perl-DBD-MySQL-2.1021-3
# rpm --erase perl-DBD-MySQL-2.1021-3
error: Failed dependencies:
        perl-DBD-MySQL is needed by (installed) mysql-3.23.58-1.9

How do i remove the mysql rpm?
